There is established a Planning and Building Department which shall combine the services and facilities of the existing Planning Department and Department of Building and Housing. The Planning and Building Department shall prepare and maintain the City’s General Plan, guide its implementation and ensure buildings and facilities are constructed and maintained in accordance with adopted fire and life safety codes under the direction of a Director of Planning and Building, and as hereinafter provided.
