Upon application, an extension of the approval of the tentative parcel map, both within the coastal zone and otherwise, not to exceed five years, may be granted by the Commission. Notice of the decision shall be provided to the applicant, the Coastal Commission for tentative parcel maps within the coastal zone, and any known interested person as provided in this code.
